Dell and Mac

I was standing in line like all the other freshman...honestly orientation was about going from one line to another. Anyway, there I was standing in yet another line when I finally found myself first in line and I was face to face with my new love. No, I am not talking about the man that was handing me my computer, I am talking about my newest Mac. It was love at first sight. It didn't take me long to figure out how it all worked.

Now it is four years later and I have since upgraded from Tiger to Leopard on my 12 in. Powerbook G4. Yes, they still exist. I really can't believe it is still running, but I am glad. Before my powerbook I had been using my family Dell desktop. While I did a lot of Dell bashing in my college days, I gotta tell you that I do have a soft spot for the PCs. We have owned the same Dell computer for about 9 or 10 years. It has been through a lot AND it was definitely not love at first sight for this computer. It has had its share of problems but nothing that I couldn't fix. Just like my Powerbook I can't believe that my family Dell is still running.

In my experience I guess it really is not all about the machine itself but the owners. I make sure that both computers get their good share of shutdowns. I make sure that their anti-virus software is running well. Try to clean them out every so often, the Dell needs this more than the Mac though...*that reminds me I have to go on that search for the temp folder after this.* All in all you really have to take care of your machine and it will be as good to you as you are to it.

*Why can't Apple come out with another 12in powerbook?*
